With the big game this weekend, it's party time! Of course, everyone knows that the parties are all about the dip being served. Seriously, the chips are simply the vehicle for getting the yum to your mouth, right?
What's your go-to dip recipe? Some friends shared their faves on Facebook:
Kay's easy recipe begins with one pound of ground beef, one can of chilies, two eight ounce cans of tomato sauce, and one block of Velveeta cheese. You start by browning the beef and draining the fat, then adding the chilies and tomato sauce to the beef. Once stirred well, add the Velveeta until it is melted.
Nicole's recipe combines sausage, Rotel, cream cheese, and Velveeta cheese. After you cook the sausage combine all the ingredients into a crock pot and let it cook until it is melted. Try it with Frito chips!
Mila's super bowl dip is made with avocados, Rotel with green chilies, garlic salt, red onion, and lime. There's no recipe, just mix until it tastes great!
Jennifer recommends a 7-layer guacamole dip. She makes it by combining guacamole, sour cream, salsa, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and black olives. Sounds yummy!
Gail suggests a hot cheese dip made with Pace picante sauce and Velveeta cheese. If you want to spice it up a bit, you can try adding green peppers and ham.
Conrad's recipe would be great for seafood lovers. It uses crab meat, cream cheese, a cup of chopped pecans, and Louisiana hot sauce. You start by draining the crab meat and then, using your hands, mush it together with the cream cheese and pecans. Once it's mixed up, add the Louisiana hot sauce for extra flavor. Microwave it before serving and you're good to go! It's best eaten with heavier chips so they don't break.
